Baku and Tbilisi have completely fulfilled their obligations relating to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project, the Minister of Energy of Georgia, Deputy Prime Minister Kakha Kaladze said."Georgia and Azerbaijan have completely fulfilled the obligations relating to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project. According to social polls conducted by the IRI, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Minister for Labour, Healthcare and Social Protection David Sergeyenko have an approval rating of 62%. Irakli Alasania, an ex-minister of defense and leader of the Our Georgia – Free Democrats Party, and Speaker of Parliament Davit Usupashvili have a rating of 57%. Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has an approval of 56%. Kakha Kaladze, a vice prime minister and minister for energy, has 48%, leader of the United National Movement David Bakradze 47%, Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania 40%.

European Commission and Turkey upgrade energy cooperation

The European Commission has proposed Turkey to upgrade cooperation through launching high-level energy dialogue, Vice President of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic tweeted today. The agreement was reached during the meeting with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz before the first meeting of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor that started in Baku today.Sefcovic said that the negotiations will start soon.

 Today in the Kazbegsky region of Georgia the opening ceremony of the new hydroelectric power station "Kazbegi GES" took place. Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze declared at the opening ceremony that the construction of the hydroelectric power station was carried out due to internal investments. He also noted that implementation of similar projects promotes the strengthening of the economy of the regions of Georgia, decreases the level of migration and provides the population with new jobs.

Kakha Kaladze, Georgian vice prime minister and the minister for energy, is on a visit to Ankara where he will meet Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz to discuss bilateral cooperation in energy, trans-border trade, power line construction. A new inter-government energy agreement will be signed, Trend reports.Kaladze will conclude his visit to Turkey on September 19.
